I’m Just John

I was born and raised in the south of the Netherlands, lived in Belgium for nine years, in a small town called Maaseik, and moved to the Algarve

13 years ago.

I’ve been a big country fan all my life and started performing 20 years ago as a “one man band” playing in Western Saloons, restaurants, hotels and other locations.

For several years I have performed in Belgium,Holland and Germany.

But my greatest experience was my performance in Lubbock Texas USA during the annual Cowboy Symposium in 2009

Originally, my music was inspired by the “older guys” like: Don Williams, Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Willy Nelson etc.

Later on I also started to love the music from the “newer generation” like:

Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson (my personal favourite) Travis Tritt, Dwight Yoakam, Randy Travis, Toby Keith etc.

By mixing those different styles of Country my music is particular suitable for listerners as well as for line dancers.

I play a huge repertoire of all these Artists.

My own music installation is suitable, halls, restaurants, campings and all middle sized accommodations. I play guitar.

Since we live in the algarve I mostly play the oldies from the fiftees, sixtees and seventees.

So, if you ask me to entertain you for an afternoon or an evening with “Golden Oldies” then I will cheer you up with songs from: Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard, Chuck Berry, Eagles, Dire Straits, Tom Jones and almost all the other “old rockers”

My first CD with the title “Memories - stronger than time” was recorded October '07.

It is a nice mix between older and newer country songs and as bonus track a duet with “Susan” from the Dutch band “Nightlife”

In January '09 my second CD titled " Workin' on dreams" was recorded.

In March 2012

I released my latest CD " Unforgettable"

featuring great songs of great stars

of the 50's,60's and 70's

Together, we can tailor-make a super show which is guaranteed to get you and your friends/guests singing along and enjoying some dancing.
